OAU gets new registrar, bursar||nawa4u.com

The Governing Council of the Obafemi  Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has appointed Mrs Margaret Idowu Omosule as the 12th Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council of the University, and Mr Samson Olayide Ayansina as the new Bursar of the institution.

Prior to this appointment, Mrs. Omosule was the Deputy Registrar and Acting Director, Vice-Chancellor’s Office.

Mrs Omosule of Ughelli in Delta State was born on April 8, 1961 in Arijan, Ogun State.

She is an alumna of OAU, Ife where she had her Bachelor of Art (B.A) (ed.) degree in History (1984) and a Masters (M. A) in Guidance and Counselling in 1990.  She is currently on her Ph.D Programme in the Department of Educational Foundations and Counselling, Faculty of Education, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

Mrs Omosule joined OAU as an Administrative Officer 1 on January 23, 1995 and rose through the ranks to the post of Deputy Registrar in 2008, which was her designation prior to her appointment as the Registrar.

Until his appointment, the new Bursar worked in the Finance Department of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Oyo State, as a Deputy Bursar/Financial Controller.

Born on February 15, 1962 in Eruwa, Oyo State, Samson Ayansina attended Methodist Primary School, Ago-Ajala, Temidire, Eruwa (1969-1974); Baptist Modern/ Commercial School, Eruwa (1974 to 1978).  He obtained his West Africa School Certificate in 1984 and thereafter, gained admission into The Polytechnic, Ibadan (1984 – 1986) where he obtained a National Diploma and emerged Overall Best Student in Business Administration.  While in the Polytechnic, Ayansina obtained an Advanced Level (‘A’ Level) General Certificate of Education.

He also studied at the University of Ibadan (1999-2000; 2001-2003) and the Lead City University, Ibadan where be bagged a B.Sc degree, in Accounting and emerged Overall Best Student in Auditing in 2007.

A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Mr Ayansina’s working experience cuts across all areas of accounting. At UI, He was a secretarial staff (1986-1990), an account officer in the Bursary Department (1990 – 1993), among oathers.

He was appointed Senior Accountant (1993-1996), Principal Accountant and Chief Accountant (1996-2004).  He became Deputy Bursar/Financial Controller in the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, April 1, 2008 and served in that capacity before his present appointment.
