Star-studded Bipolar debuts in cinemas||nawa4u.com

A star-studded Yoruba movie, Bipolar, has been released in cinemas across Nigeria.

Produced by Oyin Laz and directed by Muyiwa Ademola, the movie features Jide Kosoko, Yemi Solade, Bimbo Oshin, Tayo Sobola, Lanre Hassan, Kayode Olaiya, Bolanle Ninalowo, Bukky Fagbuyi,  Wale Akorede, Afeez Eniola, Bimbo Oshin and Adedimeji Lateef.

Speaking during the movie premiere held at Ozone Cinema, Yaba, Lagos, Oyin said the movie talked about the basic types of bipolar disorder, including changes in mood, energy, and activity levels.

She stated, “People with bipolar disorder experience periods of unusually intense emotion; changes in sleep patterns and activity levels, and unusual behaviors. I got inspired to make this film because I have a lot of people around me who are actually suffering from this mental illness but don’t know what it is.

According to Yemi Solade, who also witnessed the premiere, lots of people battle with bipolar. He explained, “We have individuals, most especially our political leaders who can be so erratic in their behaviours. These are basically the symptoms but a lot of people don’t want to be bothered about it.”

Distributed by Blue Pictures, the movie tells the story of a young lady who is unable to control her depression, which begins at her tender age after the loss of her twin sister.
